HANDING OVER OF A SEWING MACHINE TO AN EX-CONVICT OKORE KALU WHO WAS DISCHARGED ON THE 5TH JANUARY, 2024

"Inmates rehabilitation programs are often overlooked, but they can have a huge impact on convicts and society as a whole. One such program is the sewing machine which was given to an ex-convict, which aims to give convicts a skill that they can use to earn a living when they are released from prison. This program has been particularly successful in the case of one ex-convict, Okore Kalu, who was given a sewing machine after his release..."

Okore Kalu has been in the prison for 5 years and during his stay in custody he learnt sewing which he can use his new skill to start his own business. This is just one example of how rehabilitation programs can have a positive impact on convicts and their communities. These programs not only help convicts to find work and become productive members of society, but they also reduce the rate of recidivism and make our communities safer..."

This the event of presentation of sewing machine to an ex-convict Okore Kalu which was done by the Incharge station ACC Onyemulu Victor Echimikpe the incharge station and the 2I/C Admin CSC Ezeala Nwabueze Chimezie, also present at the handing over presentation are the ASC I Eke Okereke Ochea I/C Tailoring workshop and also in attendance is ASC II Eke Kalu I/C Records and ASC II Agwu O K I/C welfare, also in attendance is the family of the ex-convict.

This sewing machine was donated by Mezie and Agnes Foundation Ututu Arochukwu, Abia State on the 15th January, 2024.

During the presentation of this sewing machine the I/C Station ACC Onyemulu Victor Echimikpe said one of our responsibilities as correctional officers is to rehabilitate inmates when they are in custody, offenders when they are here, and to train them in various vocations, when they leave here we don’t just end it like that, we do what we call after care measures to ensure we follow up that the inmates is doing very well when he or she leaves here.

As a result of that we were presented with these items by Mezie and Agnes Foundation Ututu Arochukwu when we told them that we had an inmate that will be discharged from our facility very soon.

We ask you (Okore Kalu) to make judicious use of this machine. Because you are out of custody doesn’t mean that we will not follow up in making sure you make judicious use of this machine presented to you.

On behalf of the Controller General of Corrections, The Assistant Controller General of Corrections Incharge of Zone ‘E’, The Controller of Corrections Abia State Command, and the entire staff of this custodial Centre I hand over this sewing machine to you (Okore Kalu)

Speaking after receiving the Machine, the ex-offender (Okore Kalu) thanked the donator Mezie Agnes Foundation and pray that God will bless them greatly saying that he will make judicious use of the machine handed over to him, he also thanked the Nigerian Correction Service Medium Security Custodial Centre Arochukwu for the reformation, rehabilitation and reintegrating him back to the society in a special way.

In light of the above the family also thanked the donator and the Officers and men of the Custodial Centre for finding their son worthy for this donation.

The event came to an end with a handshake and photograph.

We bless God for making this day a remarkable one in the life of this inmate Okore Kalu.

This project was attracted by the Keeper ASC I Eze Emmanuel Chima.

Cocaine Godmotherโ€™s Jenny Pellicer Dishes on Steamy Love Scenes With Costar Catherine Zeta-Jones

Cocaine Godmother’s Jenny Pellicer dished on filming steamy love scenes with costar Catherine Zeta-Jones and more in this exclusive interview with Us Weekly.
The Lifetime film, which is based on the life of drug lord Griselda Blanco (Zeta-Jones), a pioneer in the Miami-based cocaine trade, is filled with drama and suspense. Pellicer plays Carolina — Zeta-Jones’ love interest.
“Having sex in a movie is generally pretty uncomfortable,” the rising star explained to Us. “When the day comes around, you haven’t been eating for a couple weeks, you’re kind of overwhelmed and you’re trying to keep it cool. It’s never such a cool, sexy thing in reality. You’ve got pasties everywhere in all the areas that they can’t show, and it gets hot and steamy, so they kind of slide off.”
She continued: “Then suddenly you’re like, ‘Oh my god, I’m doing a sex scene with Catherine Zeta-Jones.’ This is real. I definitely had moments where I felt like a little girl kissing someone, or having sex with someone, for the first time. It really is, you feel like you’re fumbling in the dark. But she was very lovely and supportive. She’s a wonderful kisser. Delightful.”

The Norwegian beauty went on to say she felt a “sense of camaraderie and closeness” while filming with the Feud alum after the star gifted her with a red Ferragamo bag shortly after Pellicer mentioned wanting to buy one. “She was paying attention,” Pellicer said of the sweet surprise, which included a handwritten note. “She’s that kind of person. So meticulous, like really caring and paying attention to what people are saying so then she can surprise them later. She blew my mind. I was holding the bag for like an hour afterwards.”

The 7D alum, who will next appear in the horror reboot Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, said that in addition to being generous,The Entrapment actress was also incredibly hardworking. “[Zeta-Jones] had to be there every day for really long hours. She always showed up ready to work with a smile and a great attitude. It didn’t surprise me, but it was just wonderful to see, and admirable.”
And while the brunette beauty’s husband, Michael Douglas, was unable to visit the film’s set, the Fatal Attraction star did attend a screening of Cocaine Godmother in New York several weeks ago. “[Douglas] couldn’t have been more complimentary and kind. At the end of the movie and shook my hand and gave me a really lovely compliment, and that really meant a lot,” Pellicer gushed.
Why some couples avoid sex during pregnancy โ€”Study

One in six couples abstains from having sex during the entire nine months of pregnancy, a survey has revealed.
Couples tend to fall into two camps when it comes to getting intimate during pregnancy. For some, their sex life continues entirely as normal right up until they give birth.

But for others, sex is put on the no-go list the minute two blue lines appear on the pregnancy test.
And a new survey by Channel Mum has revealed that the number of parents refraining from sexual intimacy is higher than you might think.
The parenting channel quizzed 2,000 parents and found that many couples were avoiding sex during pregnancy out of concern that they might ‘hurt’ the baby.
A further one in 10 felt it was just plain wrong to have sex while a baby is on the way — which, when you think about it, is slightly bonkers, considering how the baby likely got there in the first place.
How far along the mum-to-be was in her pregnancy also seems to have an impact on how much sex couples are having.
Women from the study reported that they had the best sex at around four months, but just two months later, at the point of the sixth month, 57 per cent had stopped getting intimate altogether.
So, why are couples not doing it when the woman is expecting?
Turns out it has something to do with how pregnant women feel, with eight in 10 mums saying that during the full 42 weeks, they only felt attractive for a teeny period (hardly surprising when you factor in tiredness, nausea and a changing body.)
On the plus side, 65% of dads said they found their other half more beautiful than ever while pregnant.
“Anything which changes your life and your body changes the way you deal with sex – and pregnancy does both,” explains Psychologist and relationship expert, Emma Kenny.
“For some women, they revel in their curvier body and their sex drive goes through the roof. But others are anxious about hurting their unborn child, insecure about their blooming body or stressed about the impending pressures of motherhood, and this means they find it far harder to maintain a normal connection with their partner and have sex.”
“We need to recognise there are so many changes during pregnancy that if your sex life is a different to normal, that’s fine – just stay in touch emotionally with your partner so you both feel supported,” she continues.
Commenting on the findings Siobhan Freegard, founder of Channel Mum said: “Sex in pregnancy is such a controversial subject.
“So many mums-to-be struggle with their body image or feeling ill that many will be shocked – and even reassured – to know their partners see them as more beautiful than ever.”
But what about the whole safety issue? Just how safe is it to have sex while pregnant?
According to the NHS, it’s perfectly safe to have sex during pregnancy.
“Your partner’s penis can’t penetrate beyond your vagina, and the baby cannot tell what’s going on,” the site reads.
“However, it is normal for your sex drive to change during pregnancy. Don’t worry about this, but do talk about it with your partner.”
But there are some times when it is advised that pregnant women do avoid sex.
“Your midwife or doctor will probably advise you to avoid sex if you’ve had any heavy bleeding in pregnancy, since sex may increase the risk of further bleeding if the placenta is low or there is a haematoma (a collection of blood),” the site advises.
“You’ll also be advised to avoid sex if your waters have broken (rupture of membranes), as this can increase the risk of infection. If you’re unsure, ask your midwife or doctor.”
Maggie Fisher, from the Institute of Health Visiting said that women who have been diagnosed with a condition called placenta praevia may also be advised to abstain from sex.
“Women diagnosed with placenta praevia – where the placenta lies in front of the cervix – should normally avoid sex and follow the advice of their healthcare professional,” she says.
But while sex is safe for most during pregnancy, it can sometimes be tricky and may involve some trial and error in finding positions that feel comfortable.
“Sex with your partner on top can become uncomfortable quite early in pregnancy, not just because of the bump, but because your breasts might be tender,” it advises.
“It can also be uncomfortable if your partner penetrates you too deeply. It may be better to lie on your sides, either facing each other or with your partner behind.”
According to Siobhan, the key is to work out what feels right for you as a couple.
“There’s no right or wrong; so the key is to do what’s right for you as a couple, while keeping the baby safe,” she says.
“If there’s no medical issue and you are comfortable with it, you can enjoy a great sex life while pregnant – and many mums swear by sex to kick-start labour.”
“Whatever your choice, ensure you discuss it with your partner so neither of you feel your own needs are being neglected,” she continues.
“And remember, even if your sex life does stop, it’s only for a few months; so, enjoy spending quality time together in other ways too.”
