Piers Morgan's cheeky tweet before the north London derby always risked coming back to bite him.

The ITV presenter posted a comparison between Spurs striker Harry Kane and Arsenal's new arrival Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before Saturday's blockbuster at Wembley.

He boldly said: "Can’t wait to see the best striker in Europe tomorrow."

The stats compared the goal-hungry forwards' records over the past three seasons, with Kane's 92 goals in 117 games narrowly trailing Aubameyang's 100 goals in the same number of appearances.

Ignoring the fact that one was playing in the Premier League and the other in the Bundesliga, Morgan's point was clear.
